Importing Music
Bring whole collections in from the Internet Archive and YouTube
Importing Music
deadca7 imports whole collections from a single URL. Two importers work today.
Sources
Internet Archive
Paste an archive.org details page or search URL to import a whole collection. The importer respects file-format ranking, so you get the best available files rather than whatever happens to be listed first.
YouTube
Import YouTube playlists, channels, or single videos.
The intro also names Bandcamp, Discogs, Tidal, and bookmarks – that’s where the library is headed. The concretely working importers today are Internet Archive and YouTube.
Preview Before You Build
Paste any supported URL into the command palette and deadca7 previews the import first: collection name, album and track counts, cover art, and a provider badge. You decide before anything is added.
Background, Crash-Safe Imports
Imports run in the background without interrupting playback – browse and play while they finish. Live progress shows in the footer, and new albums appear as they complete. Imports are:
- Crash-safe and resumable – built on durable workflows, so a restart picks up where it left off
- Per-album atomic – each album lands as a unit
- Duplicate-free on retry – re-running an import won’t create duplicates
For step-by-step workflows, see Importing Collections.
